EMPLOYERS FAQ Frequently Asked Questions by employers. Why use a recruiting firm and pay a fee when I can place a classified ad in the local newspaper? HMR most likely already has the ideal candidate in our roster. We know who they are and can present them quickly and confidentially. We have candidates who don’t search the classified ads for a new job every day. They have entrusted their resume with us hoping that we can find them an ideal opportunity that would enhance their career path. Newspaper ads, besides being extremely costly, yield dozens and dozens of resumes which take a great deal of time to review and qualify. Why can‘t I just go to my computer and find on line job sites for resumes? You can, but that is very time consuming and you really don’t know who these people are. HMR provides personal service, quick and efficient. We know our people. We’re someone you can count on from start to finish and long after the placement has happened. We’re there for you like a member of your staff. We work hand-in-hand with your Personnel Director to make sure all the terms and conditions of employment have been met. How long will it take to fill the position? Timing to fill a job varies with the position, skills, salary and location. But we will ensure the resumes of qualified candidates are delivered to you within the minimum time required to complete a job search. We have a unique access to quality candidates. We interview and screen our candidates so you only see the resumes of those who match the requirements of the position. We don’t submit candidates who are not qualified for the position you are filling. What does your service cost? HMR works on a contingency basis. You only pay a fee when you hire one of our candidates. Our fee is invoiced as 10 percent of the candidate’s first-year annualized salary. Are your services confidential? Yes. We respect the fact recruitment must be handled with extreme sensitivity. Be assured we will respect your wishes regarding confidentiality. How do you find the candidates? HMR’s candidates come from a variety of sources. Our best sources are referrals, networking leads, our own database, candidate resumes collected through our website, industry conferences and advertisements. We also source other industry-specific resume databases and national resume databases. We discover many interested candidates through our targeted e-mails and phone calls. Do you talk with the candidates before sending their resumes to me? HMR always talks with the candidate before submitting the resume to you. It is part of our prescreening process. We only submit the resumes of qualified candidates to your position. How do I proceed once I see a resume I like? Let us know, and we will arrange everything for you. It is part of our service to coordinate all the interviews and to finalize the deal for you. Do you negotiate the job offer with the candidate? We can. Or, you can do it. The choice is yours. Who pays for the interview expenses? Depending upon the hiring company and the position, most hiring companies will cover all or most of the candidate’s interview related expenses directly with the candidate. These expenses could include travel, car rental, meals, and overnight accommodations. What is the guarantee on a candidate I hire through your service? We offer a pro-rated 90 calendar-day guarantee on all of our direct-hire candidates. Our guarantee is clearly specified in our fee agreement. |
